About TariffWise
We exist to make tariffs and trade policy understandable for the people who actually have to pay them — small importers, business owners, and curious consumers.
Our mission
The 2026 tariff landscape is the most complex US trade environment in living memory. Rates change weekly. Legal authorities overlap. Press coverage focuses on political theatre, not operational reality. TariffWise was founded to fill that gap with practical, source-verified guides that you can actually act on.
We are independent. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. We disclose every affiliate relationship. The advertising on this site has no influence on what we publish.
What we cover
- US tariffs by country, sector, and product
- Step-by-step guides for importers and exporters
- Customs procedures, HTS codes, and compliance
- Trade agreements: USMCA, CPTPP, EU-Mercosur, CBAM
- Weekly news analysis on tariff and trade policy changes
- Free calculators and reference tools
Who runs TariffWise
TariffWise is an independent publication. Every article is written by a named human author and verified against primary sources before publication. We do not publish AI-generated content without human authorship and editing.
Mohamed Tijarti
Founder & Editor
Founded TariffWise in 2026 to make US tariff policy understandable for small importers and consumers. Researches and writes every guide on the site. Based in Madrid, Spain.
TariffWise is currently a one-person publication. As we grow we will add specialist editors and disclose each addition here.
How we work
- Source from primary documents. We cite the original CBP, USTR, Federal Register, WTO, WCO publication — not summaries by other media.
- Verify against the live tariff schedule. Rates are checked against the HTSUS, TARIC, or equivalent national schedule on the date of publication.
- Subject-matter review. Every article in a regulated area is reviewed by an editor with practitioner experience.
- Date-stamped and revisited. Every page shows the date it was last updated. Pillar pages are reviewed at least monthly.
For more detail, see our Editorial Standards.
Editorial independence
- We do not accept payment for editorial coverage.
- Affiliate links are disclosed.
- Advertising is independent of editorial. We run Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose what we cover.
