How this calculator works
US import duty in 2026 is the sum of up to five tariff layers, plus two federal fees:

- Section 232 โ steel (50%), aluminum (50%), autos (25%), semis, pharma.
- IEEPA โ Mexico/Canada (25%), waived for USMCA-qualifying.
- Reciprocal baseline โ April 2025 EO, by country.
- MPF โ 0.3464% (min $32.71, max $634.62).
- HMF โ 0.125%, sea freight only.

Frequently asked questions
How accurate is this calculator?
It uses 2026 rate tables compiled from HTSUS, USTR Section 301 lists, Commerce Section 232 actions, IEEPA executive orders, and the April 2025 reciprocal tariff schedule. Always confirm against the live HTS for the exact 10-digit code of your product.
Does it include Trump tariffs?
Yes โ Section 301 (China), Section 232 (steel/aluminum/autos/semis), IEEPA additions (Mexico/Canada), and the country-by-country reciprocal baseline.
Are MPF and HMF included?
Yes. MPF at 0.3464% with the statutory $32.71 minimum and $634.62 maximum. HMF at 0.125% on sea freight only.
What about antidumping and countervailing duties?
We do not include AD/CVD because they are product-specific. If your product is subject to an order, the rate can add 10% to 400%+ on top. Check the ITA's ACCESS portal or ask your broker.
Can I embed this calculator on my site?
Yes, free. Use the embed snippet above. Keep the TariffWise attribution intact.
Does this replace a customs broker?
No. It's a sanity check. For actual filings, hire a licensed customs broker.
Why is my Mexico/Canada result so high?
By default we assume non-USMCA qualification. Toggle "USMCA-qualifying" if your goods meet the rules of origin โ see our USMCA guide.
